Just wondering if anyone has gone turbo with a carb? I plan on doing a draw though setup on a 1.0 and was wondreing how big of carb to use?

Depending on the turbo size, I would say you should start with a stged 2 barrell, around 32/36, similar to those used on Chevettes, 2.2 Dodges, and Mustang 2.3's.[/i]

yeah thats kinda what I hab in mind. I have a RHB5 VJ5 that I plan on using and plan on doing an air to water intercooler.

Does that turbo have a mechanical seal?
I think you'll need it for a drawthrough

32/36 was also used here on 2.0 Ford Escorts...sometimes known also as the Pinto engine. Just as an aside. Neat pics above.

i have a 1300 cc carb setup on my swift for about 2 years
i am using a standard carb, with pressureize shaft
using a IHI turbo from a 323 madza
a carb box on the carb
2.5 exhaust system
msd 6BTM
blaster ss coil
msd plug wires 8mm
Front mount intercooler
customize Gti gear box
ACT pressure plate
7lbs flywheel
plus more

i drive around every day on 10 psi and race at 15 psi

it was dyno at 15psi and giving me 195hp to the ground using the IHI turbo
