Hi,

First of all let me apologise that I don't own a Swift  but I need some help for my old skool alfa and you guys seem knowledgeable with regards to motorbike carbs on cars.
Basically I have a set of R1 carbs to use but need to know whats what on them!! ie, what fuel & air connections do what? How to separate them (without breaking anything!) Does anyone have a diagram or anything that might help? or perhaps some websites that do?

Also, I noticed inside the carbs in front of the butterfly's is like a piece of plastic, kinda like another butterfly, any idea what this is for?

Any help would be most appreciated.

Cheers,
Jaty.

Hi,

I have diagram and all the detail you need from Haynes book for Yamaha R1 bikes.
I will need to have bit more time for me to scan it in then I will send you as a pdf format if you would like.

Or I can send you by post.
I am fitting R1 carbs to G13B Gti engine and into Mini.
So, I can help you little.
There are more knowledgeable ppl on this forum, too.

Good luck and speak to you soon.

Cheers
Atchi

Hi Atchi,

Cheers that would be most helpful, pdf format would be great and I'll just print it out (at work obviously!!).

Will send you a pm with my email.

No problem on the time, I'm in no great rush.

I've got an Alfasud that I know have a 1.7 16v engine from an alfa 33, which is the engine I'll be running the carbs on hopefully! Only thing is I have to split the carbs into 2 pairs as the engine is a flat four. Shouldn't be a problem, just makes it bit more of a challenge

Cheers again,
Jaty.

Jaty,

I got it scanned but it is 35MB.
I will try and make it smaller without losing quality.
Otherwise, I have to send it to you by post.

Let me know your thought.

Cheers
Atchi

Atchi,

Cheers for that, don't know whats best, could you zip the files?
If not then cool, just send me in the post, i don't mind either way, whatever is easier for you really as you've been most helpful.

If your gonna post them, let me know and I'll pm you my address.

Cheers,
Jaty.

Atchi,

Is it possible to host the PDF files on a server? I'm also busy with R1 carbs on a GTI engine, but I haven't a clue how to connect the carb.

Mark
