I'm pretty certain I've read elsewhere on this forum that you can use the 8v sohc carbie distributor, of course you will need to get it recurved but should be a lot easier to find than a mk1gti dizzy.

I might be doing the same thing in a few months, unless I can find a couple of grand for an aftermarket computer I might be pulling my 40mm dellorto's off my datto to use on my swift race car... let us know how you get on.

P.S. have you talked to Dara ( Mad for Tar) he had a spare mk1gti dizzy about a year ago...

Hi Tempo,

If you ask me nicely, I can sell one of my spare....
I won't need mine for while and I have whole mk1 I drive....
I should't be greedy and have 3....

Let me know if you are inetrested.

Cheers
Atchi

Atchi I thought you'd sold all yours, or I'd have headed Duggie your way! As for the ignition unit, if Bolivar recommended it, then it works.

Hello,

Maybe I can help you, Have you read my post with subject (SOHC 8v to DOHC with twin keihin carb ) ?

In here (Jakarta, Indonesia) SOHC 8v (carburetor) dizzy with single/ double port vacuum advancer (refurbished) sell about $ 85.

If you looking for brand new dizzy, it cost twice or more than refurbished.

PM me if you need more help.
