So that progressive secondary 2bbl. I've got is just too big. I'm thinking I should go with bike carbs. The typical NASCAR carb is a 390 cfm holley on a V8, so would a small bike carb perform better than a big bike carb? I'm thinking maybe something off a 600-900cc 4cyl.

What carb do you have, and what is it doing to make you think its too big?

It's a 2bbl off of an 83 s10 blazer. GM used this carb on 2.8's and early 80's 250 inline 6's. I've modded it so that the main jet is adjustable and it's close as far as fuel demand. The problem is that it's quicker if you hold the throttle just before the secondary opens. I've adjusted the secondary air door too. It's set up like a quadrajet, having a big and a little bore, secondary air door, and a primary metering rod. The worst part about the whole setup is that I only get 31 mpg. After reading this current post, I bet that I could crutch it by disabling the secondary, couldn't I? I still like the look of bike carbs, tho.
