hey guys as u all may know iv had cbr 1100 carbs put on my car and performs well. one thing im goin to do now is an airbox but il do a search on that. anyway as i no longer hav the efi system i now hav 2 pipes stickin out from the cam cover. what r these. i bunged one off as oil was escaping from it but theres stil a little seeping from the other. should i bung this off too??

heres a few pics of my engine with a close up of the pipes im taking about. you should be able to see that iv bunged the left hand side off but the right hand side i left.

The small pipe runs to the PCV valve that was on your old intake.
The larger one runs to the air intake system that was on your old intake.

The engine needs to breath, and expell the crankcase venting somewhere.
So the original system recirculated it back into the intake and mixed it with the air and fuel and burned it in the cylinder.
Then sent it out the tailpipe.

You should not bung them you should at least use one of them to let the crankcase breath either into an oil catch can with a breather or back into the intake system.

thanks guys. think its pretty cool too. just need the airbox to finish it off. only prob is i wont be able to fit a strut brace in. oh well. thanks for the help on those pipes. il have to make somethin to get it bak into the engine.

this is where you want to plug one and run the other to an oil catch can & breather.
otherwise your lovely valve cover is going to get a nice film of oil all the time, it does need to breathe.
