Post subject:  Carburetor Kit, where to get them??

Hi
I live in Tasmania, Australia. I have a 1985 Suzuki Swift, with a g10 engine, which I use as a "Paddy Basher" ie. unregistered, bit of fun driving around paddocks and DIY race tracks. It wont idle, and will only start with the gas down, and as soon as the revs drop, it dies, which leads me to suspect the carburetor, mabye egr, is buggered. This didn't happen before, so I also suspect that dirt or some other debris inside the carb is causing the issue. I am keen to rebuild it (i have read the tutorial by phil), but I cannnot find any seals, parts, gaskets, etc. online. I figure a rebuild is cheaper than buying a whole new carb, and cost is important, because the car isnt an onroad car.
The carburetor has AISAN cast into the side, and has an aluminium tab screwed on it with 82070, a model number perhaps?
It looks strikingly like the one featured in the blow up diagram somewhere on the forum.
I will post a picture of it if you dont know whta I'm on about.
Anyway, where do you get good carburetor kits for this model?
Thanks

The Aisin carbs used on the Australian vehicles are a completely different animal to those on the US vehicles - you might want to check that anti-diesel (fuel cut) solenoid is working, and has +12V supplied to it when the ignition is switched on.

If you're standing infront of the vehicle, you'll find the solenoid on the right side toward the bulkhead - disconnect the wire and apply 12V, you should hear the solenoid click. If it doesn't you can simply remove it and plug the hole with a sutiable bolt.

Hi
I checked the fuel cut solenoid and it works perfectly.
The symptoms are the car runs well when revved, but as soon as the revs drop, it dies or runs really rough. I am gonna be doing a carb rebuild when i have time in a few weeks. It only started doing this a while ago, so I think it's debris related.
Also, it has been "running on" pretty badly when the ignition is off... not a very healthy little zuke at the moment.
Thanks.

Any word on where to get the Aisan Carb kits for a 1.0L Swift GL with A/T. My aisan is stamped 62E10 from both a 1993 and 1996 Carb.

Wow I think this is one of the most valuable information shared on this forum so far. I don't have a carby anymore but I remember how much trouble I went through to tune my carb without the kit. Even though I don't need it anymore, I still thank you for the link on behalf of future swift-owners
