I was wondering if the distributor off of the swift 8v will work on the swift 16v head?? I am running carbs so the stock dist. won't work because it runs off the computer.. And Ias told the 8v dist. is mechanical advance.. Any input on this.. Or info from the carb guys??

THanks Alot, Scott

Not all 8V distributors are mechanical, my 1992 Swift engine is all electronic. Might need to be from a carbureted car.

Mk1 dizzys are not computer controlled. Mine is now full-mechanical with a modified curve.

figured they wouldn't be a straight swap (only 3 cylinders of course), but the shaft, mounts, weights, springs, etc... ?
@ least if a 8v one can be fitted to a 16v head ..

So I need a distributor off of a carbed 8v swift to run this setup?? That is what it sounds like. NItro- yeah I got the motor stripped got my mallory hyfire val ignition, dual mikuni 40phh carbs, fuel pres. reg.. So all I need is the distributor. And my manifold to run the dual carbs (already got one lined up).. I am putting this motor in my 86' samuri.. it is an offroad setup..

Later, Scott
