So I just baught a 1989 Suzuki Swift GTi Twin CAM 1.3L unfortunatly the dealer that sold it to me failed to mention it was considered totaled and that there were more problems then what he mentioned there to be...

After I started driving it and finding one problem after another and fixing a lot of stuff and nothing working I took it to a local shop and had a dyno test done on it...

after all of this I find out that my transmission is skipping 1st and 2nd gear and starting out at 3rd so its causing my slow acceleration and also my engine is misfireing so the two combined is cause my car to die when idleing.

First of all I would like to know if getting my transmission rebuilt is a better idea than trying to find a used tranny for it?

I need this car to be in a non-dieing situation before april so the sooner I get something done the better... and selling the car is not an option the money to problem ratio may not be worth it but to me this car is worth anything I need to do to fix it. Its my dream car and I will spend everything I have to make it perfect.

These are the right words to say on this board :D As long as you have the passion and commitment, you'll find lots of help.

As far as the car goes, it's too bad you got the raw end of the sale. It can really put a damper on the excitment of owning a GT.
Too bad to hear that it's automatic though... i'm not sure exactly what is entailed in switching to a manual, but if it wasn't ridiculous, i would consider it. The manual box is incredibly easy to work with, and fairly reliable.

I wish i had more experience on the auto boxes to help you out a little more, but let me just say welcome to the club, and stick with it. I think you'll find these little cars a rewarding experience to own and drive.

I just am not capable of preforming such amazingness... I love the car so much I don't want to fuck it up my grinding gears and getting in a wreck because I don't have th shifting genes

I love automatics I know that performance has a lot to do with the car but I think the driver plays a major part to... and I am BAMF driver of the autos
