Ok so I was making fun of my dads 2011 scion tc the other day, and I told him that his car was so stupid that I could get a geo metro around blackhawk farms race way faster then he could get his tc around it. So my upgrade plans are. Ported head hot cam, ud pully, aluminum flywheel, header, 8.5mm wires, high torqu clutch, and coldair intake. My question is will the transmission hold that kind of power and if not is there a bolt in tranny that will. Also any idea how much hp that will make? I also have suspension and brake upgrade plans too. I'm headed out to boot camp and my mos training and ill be leving in 1 week 3 days and ill be back in 6 months ill have 4 monthis to find buy and upgrade the metro.

Those power adders are not very significant re: additional work on the transmission. As a matter of fact, forget the clutch and ud pully and invest in a set of semi-slick tyres (R888, Victoracers etc) and you'll be running circles around your dad.

turbo sprint 3cyl 0-60 is only about 2 secs slower than tc stock , so little interior gutting few minor mods and good tires you could be beating him with 1.0L

Yeah but that's for the turbo, the NA is almost double that time. Cutting 8-10 seconds off 0-60 not so easy.

yeah I just figured if he hasnt even bought a metro yet he could pull the parts together to do the turbo 3cyl at same time (or maybe change the bet to a sprint vs TC since it is the predecessor of the metro

vert tranny has lower gearing so that would help get going quicker. that is if you can find one in good shape.
