Just as the title reads, last night my 2nd gear completely went (I think)
I was at a light and went from first to second and held it, as I always do since my synchro was going, then all of a sudden it started lurching.
Lurching as if teeth were missing from a gear, kind of a hit and miss.

Well I am about to give up on the little Swift, but seeing as my 7 spokes should be arriving any day now, I'd like to get it back on it's beautiful feet.
Any idea of what to run through first? Local shops told me 80 bucks just to LOOK at it so I'm hoping that this will be a plausible task to undertake myself. Otherwise I may just give up and someone could luck out and get it.

So yeah, lurching second gear, sound like it's stripped out?

It's cheaper to find a used transmission if your not mechanically inclined. If you are then it's time for a rebuild. Peruse the forum and you'll find others have done it, just a little patience goes a long ways.

I may rebuild, just after I finish my Isuzu project.
I'm not fond of having 3 cars and 2 of them being in pieces.

Are there any rebuild kits that are recommended by Zuki guys? I found a few on ebay, but I also worry that the teeth on the gear are gone from the way it acts when IN 2nd gear.
