gearboxinternals from g13b sohc in a g16a sohc gearbox. Is this possible? I need lower gearratio in my 1600 swift. Only need 1, 2 and 3 gear. Drive this car in folkrace.

i think you could use 1.3 4x4 internals or new swift sport internals.. 05-07 is a bit longer than 07+ but both are shorter than yours..

You need to clarify whether your g16 gearbox is rod or cable shift, if it's rod change then its a small frame gearbox and internals are compatible with all g10/13/15/16 fwd boxes, it's cable shift then it's a large frame box and the internals are compatible with g13/g16 4WD/J18/J20/M16

all swift sedans (1.6 fwd and 1.6 4x4) have large frame box.. hatchback 1.3 4x4 and baleno 4x4 have large frame too..
baleno 1.6 fwd have small frame box, same as all 1.0 and 1.3 hatchbacks..
that's as much as i know, and for EU market.. to be 100% sure check for rod/cable shift..

anyway, if it's large frame here are some ratios:
1.3 awd: -----------3.545 - 1.904 - 1.310 - 0.969 - 0.815 and FD: 3.944 (gti awd have 4.437 FD)
1.6 fwd: -----------3.250 - 1.772 - 1.233 - 0.911 - 0.769 and FD: 3.722 (1.6 AWD have same ratios but 3.944 FD)
swift sport 05-07: 3.545 - 1.904 - 1.407 - 1.064 - 0.885 and FD: 4.235
swift sport 07+: ---3.250 - 1.904 - 1.407 - 1.064 - 0.885 and FD: 4.388

as you can see 1.6 sedan fwd have by far longest box..
cheap upgrade? 1.3 awd internals.. a little more expensive? swift sport internals, if 07+ even better..
expensive (and by far best)? buy suzuki sport super short FD (5.176) and longer first gear (2.588) but that's around 1500eur from http://monster-sport-europe.com/
even more expensive is full gear set for swift sport from TeamMFactory.. they have it listed.. not sure, but i guess all FDs are comatibile with it

from this, my ideo of perfect gearbox for me for street is:
FD: 5.176 (monster sport)
1st: 2.588 (monster sport)
2nd: 1.904 (1.3awd or swift sport, but you can't put in 1.772 from 1.6 box because 1st and 2nd are fixed on imput shaft)
3rd: 1.407 (swift sport all years)
4th: 1.064 (swift sport all years)
5th: 0.815 (swift 1.3 awd) you can put there 0.885 from sport if you dont need that much top speed or 0.769 from 1.6 fwd or awd if you need higher top speed, but differencce from 4th to 5th would be high so 1.3 awd 4th would be better in this case

those gears on 195/50/15 tyres at 8000rpm would give you speed:
1st: 65km/h
2nd: 88km/h (rpm drop:2114)
3rd: 119km/h (rpm drop: 2088)
4th: 158km/h (rpm drop: 1950)
5th: 210km/h (rpm drop: 1872)

i have those numbers because i was looking for best gearbox large frame conversion for g13b..
all of this is just theory, there may be mistakes as i didn't took apart any large frame box yet..

in case you have small frame box, let me know, i have even more infos about those

Wow thanks for great answer. I have a cableshift gearbox. So will then need 4wd gearbox. Here in norway they are rare. Subary justy 4wd is easy to get a hand on. They are the same?

The gears 1st to 5th are interchangible but the countershaft/pinion and crownwheels are not, awd final drives are bigger, you need either a 4.1 from a m15 05+swift or a 4.4 from the m16 swift sport.
