Hi.
i am planing of making my own shortshift leaver. Do anybody have the meashurements of a aftermarked shortshift? For exsample from suzukird.com.

It is suposed to be longer between the lower bushing and the "senter pivutball"

I've done several of them since I own few Swifts. For Mk1 GTi I shorten above pivot point 40mm and then add 20mm or less bellow pivot point. For Mk2/3 because of taller center console I would not shorten it more then 25mm . On my last short shifter I did just few days ago on Mk3 40mm is little bit too much. It still feels awesome but it locates sifter little to close to the center console.

you want a longer distance between the bushing and the ball. that will move the shift linkage more with less movement of the shifter. one common cheap upgrade is a Honda shifter. its a simple install or with a dremel you can cut the weld on the ball and move it up then re-weld it. that's what i have had the best luck doing. some people cut the lower section and weld in an extension, some thread it to make it adjustable. its really how you feel like doing it. but whatever way you chose remember like said earlier it can move the shifter lower so if your tall you might have to reach. but if you have a press like me you can also bend the arm a bit to bring it further back.
