Systems come with loom, and air temp sensor and quite easy to wire up.

autronic is excellent. I had the chance to work on one with a mustang as well as a wrx. Its my next ecu for a project car that I'm working on. Would you happen to have info on the wiring and the process thereof?! Cheers

Anyone heart of "adaptronic" ?

http://www.adaptronic.com.au/tech.html

I have seen 2 suzuki doch engines on this site, on of them a turbo.

Would like to know if anyone knows this standalone system.

Car: 1996 MK3 Suzuki Swift GTi

Engine: G13B with cams, head and custom exhaust, NA

Management: Megasquirt

Firmware Revision: Custom code MSnS-E 25mX for Suzuki Swift GTi

I am using a Megasquirt V2.2 with a custom program for decoding the stock GTi wheel. The ECU works flawlessly and has an infinite number of possibilities beyond the chip, like traction control, launch control, nitrous, dual maps, etc.

Here are some details on its installation:

(I don't know why is this sticky topic in the turbo section. The topic fits better in the General Performance or the General Electronics Upgrades section)

We use the Adaptronic 420 ECU with very good results on two cars now.

We keep is mallow on the ignition timing with 23 degrees advance @ 15PSI or 200Kpa absolute on the 8.5:1CR engine.
I also think that we can run this engine @ 15PSI with 95 octane pump gas.
We also run this map on a standard G13B engine with 10:1CR @11PSI on 98 octane.
This ignition map will give good torque across the RPM range. 210Nm on the wheels @ 11PSI @ 4100Rpm on the 8.5:1CR engine.

Image

The Adaptronic has flat shift and if you run 15PSI or more it will bang in the exhaust like ALS giving you only a pressure drop of 1PSI during a gear shift. This will only work when you cut fuel and ignition at the same time. ALS is a thing of the future. Andy is worried that it will burn out valves and turbochargers.

The rezone that we used the Adaptronic ECU is that Andy is very responsive to good suggestions.
I gave Andy most of the feedback how to set up a closed loop boost controller. After 4 beta versions of firmware it was working OK.
Most of the boost control systems use bleed valves. We used a BOSCH 3/2 valve giving a faster boost response.

Many new things to come on this ECU system.

For more info: http://sj413.kicks-ass.net/adaptronic/ and ask for a 50Euro discount if you want to order the new 420C ECU. MAP/TPS combination now possible for N/A engines on firm ware version 0.3L and WARI 21.

I am really interested in the megasquirt-II system now, but I would like to know if anyone hear has built the unit from scratch yet? How tricky is it going to be to assemble? I have built some small IC's before, but nothing like this. What should I expect? :?

Im currently using megasquirt 2 and i built the board from a kit,
It isnt hard to build, you just need to follow the build instructions,
and if you get a kit from one of the big suppliers they come with all the components in number bags that relate to the build instructions.
So as long as you can solder you can do it :D

Its just the setting up and making sure all the settings are correct for your engine and sensors that i think is the harder part.
Theres a few running megasquirt but no one seems to want to say much about their settings/maps.
Think its just the time they have invested in getting it all correct, which i understand.

I’m wondering about the applications and potential of megasquirt n' spark. Would it be able to run & manage 3 separate coil packs and sitll only use the distributor tach lead? Maybe I’m not looking into the right places… I couldn't find anything on it. :(

im running the ford EDIS setup so ive got a toothed wheel on my pully.
So i cant really help there, Caaarlo is probably the best for that as he has done the code for the stock distributor wheel, but i dont think its on MS2 yet.

Why would you run 3 coil packs on a 4 cyl engine ? Did you mean to write 2 coil pack ?

Then, the answer is no, you can't use the stock magnetic wheel to drive multiple coils. You would need to instal a standard toothed wheel to the crank pulley.

And, yes, both MS2, and MS1-Extra can drive multiple coils or DIS ignition.

YOu see ? That's the problem of not filling the car field.

I also want to build a distribution circuit so i can run sequential miltiport injection. i know the whole sequential injection part of things is often referred to as being useless for topend, but it dose greatly improve bottom end efficiency, and during high revs, cools the intakevalves.

From what I’ve read, megasquirt requires a separate ic for sequential multiport. Other whys it runs batch fire between the two injector terminals.
Or at least that’s what I gathered... it was late at night though... :?

i guess no one reads anything on this website.

im running ms v2.2.

3 coils triggered off a crank sensor pick up. 36-1 wheel. you can use the dizzy to trigger... but thats pretty lame if you ask me. im running 6 injectors... 3 staged to run 35psi of boost on my mk1 t3 motor.

No you can't, unless you want to run just one coil, because the MS can't decode which cylinder is being fired. A multiple coil setup requires a toothed wheel at the crank.

please try again. im running it as we speak.

what didnt you understand about me running a 36-1 toothed wheel at the crank?

I was talking about triggering from the dizzy. It's not possible with multiple coils, that's why you're using a 36-1 wheel.

extremerider, would you be up to divulging more information on adapting MS to run 3 coils, and how to configure an MS friendly sequential multiport set up? I am very new to the realm of stand-alone fuel & spark management systems, but I really want to learn everything I can about the units and their potential. :) I ordered the MS V3 kit the other night, along with a few other components and have not yet received them. I will of course be assembling the units myself, to save on labor and give myself something to do @ 3:30 in the morning. I’m also in the middle of a stall in building the motor the unit will be used on, so I’ve got lots of time to learn order & fabricate parts. I estimate the car won’t be finished for another two years at least, so time is not an issue… (That is, unless I win the lottery…)

Oh, and by no means am I trying to steal any trade secrets. I’m just trying to find the best way to get the quality information I need, instead of stumbling around in the dark… :|
