Hello
I'm new to the comunity . I recently bought an Swift GTI , just finished polishing and porting the head , shaved 1 mm of it for increased compresion.
-koni adjustable shocks
-custom springs (lower)
-urethan bushes.

Next year i want to compete in the National Hillclimb Competition here in Roumania , i think the swift gti has great potential for new commers in the rally world. I do my own research and until now it's great.
I'm counting on you guys for help because in Roumania the Swift Gti is a very rare car and i can't find any parts .
I'll be posting some photos soon ..

Plans..i hate making plans, i've got n 1982 renault 12 with an 1.7 l modded engine sitting next to it for a year i think ,cause i don't have the time to install it since i have a fulltime banking job (10hours a day 6 days a week)
I recently bought an Daewoo Leganza for daily use and i've been puttin money in it cause it was a second hand car and it's taken about 1500 euros outta my poket for maintenance and a an lpg conversion( here it's almost 2$ a litre of 95 gasoline and 2.2$ for 99 and 100 ) sice the car eats almost 14 litres per 100km in city use with ac.

The main goal with the swift is to :
-reduce weight
-upgrade the engine to 150 hp i hope
-install a rollcage and mount strut braces and underbody braces.
-get f3 tires (slicks)
And finally i hope to get in top 15 in the national hillclimb competition under group H.
I've got alot of work ahead , first to find the parts for the suzuki then to install them and finally my pilot license, but that is a formality since i;ve been racing in local hillclimb competitions with my r12.

Your welcome. Wow! Sounds like you want to go big or go home, lol. Well, 150 is acievable, weather you can do it NA, I am not sure but you can reach it with a turbo.

In theory , cams + comp ratio of 12:1 + big throttlebody + light flywheel and pulley + racing pistons +rally chip and 55 mm exaust with 4 in 1 , big injectors and more pressure on the fuel rail it's achivable.

Today i stripped the interior , the lighter the better , just like the commercial , don't worry ther's no sugar.

Next i'll install the rollcage and try to save 2000 $ for parts . I really could use an tuning store in europe or uk cause the shipping form tha Us to Roumania is goonna kill me.

Yeah, that's always a give and take when you want your car to be different. You give a lot of cash to take your special part. It's a vicious cycle. Well, with the mods you mention you might make a little over 150bhp. But more is always better.

3 tech is owned by Suprf1y on the boards. PM him for any questions on cams. The TeamSwift webstore hasn't been in use for the longest time. You may have better luck ordering parts from BDMotorsports/SuzukiTech than from the other American sites (SRD, SSGTi). I kow shipping from here to Romania is quite expensive so it may (or may not ;)) be cheaper getting parts from AUS.

@a1989swift I don't think it will make 150hp, maybe something like 130 real horses :)) ..stallions.

The shipping is something like : - i got a autometer pro comp tach off ebay and it was 100$ plus 70$ 4 shipping.
I have found an Cat cams dealer in Bulgaria (SOFIA) that's only 250km away but they don't respond to e-mails.

The updates are :
- i begun the engine repair , i'll post some photos
- i've stripped the interior and i have primed it and painted it
- This weekend i'll put the engine back in , and i'll try to harden the front shocks (koni adjustabele) the only thing is they have to be taken off the car for that.
-Next weekend i'll try to weld a bar between the rear shocks and one in front (also i wanna weld the one in front to the "fire panel" i don't know if that's corect spelling.
Also i've named it Suzie :)

The car previous to the repair was very violent in the first 3 gears.
I've drag racing and winning against mk2 golf gti (mdded) bmw 323 even 325 but only in the first 3 gears , civic type R and others.
I would estimate the power before repairing the engine to about 115 but i haven't put it a dyno.
I'm waiting the reply from cat cams regarding the price on a set of cams that will probably increase the power to about 130 maybe 135 if the fuel pump doesn't fail .
The thing i'm thinkin of modding is the front suspension. The mk1 gti has the front arms tied to the sway bar , so it pull or pushes it and that modifies the angles of the wheel, i'm thinkin of adding a couple of bars with pivots on one end to keep the control arm from modifining it's position during acceleration or braking.
alos i've been thinkin of copying the lower brace from a manufacturer, cause the shipping is way to much and it's not that hard to make one,but i don't have any detailed pics of the front and rear lower braces so that will have to wait.
The good news is i got in touch with someone who works n a nearby plane factory , and he cand buils pulleys and stuff at a resonable price, the same guy ho lightend and ballanced the flywheel.(3 kg)The best news for me is that he can also get his hands on aviation fuel :D so unlimited comp ratio for me :))))))))
btw ..what is the best comp ratio this engine can take with stock pistons?

i just found that my ecu is not a normal 1987 GtI ecu.
The last owne said the car was chipped , but insinde it looks the same with no new soldering.
The thing is that from what info i have found it is a group a / normal ????? how bizzare.

It says
CONTROL MODULE 33920-86510
EPI-001 8525
HITACHI TOKYO JAPAN

On the inside the chip is:
8B1 J
HD6301YOP
863 JAPAN
EPI001G1

does anyone have any ideeas about this?
What kinda ecu is it ?

actually the body kit is made out of sheet metal , because here in roumania back in 2000 you couldn't order the body kits of the net or ebay and stuff so the last owner had it hand made from a photo.
I'm gonn make fiber glass molding of the body kit and take allthat metal (40kg aprox) off the car.
If you didn't notice the car has a wide body kit with 10 cm spacers on the wheel hubs. It's a bit more wide than a normal swift.

Does anyone know anything about the ecu?
