Hi,
I am hopeing that one of you Canadian guys will be able to help me out of a tricky situation!!.
Approx two months ago I did a group buy of Braided brake lines for the swift guys on redlinegti, this was through a ebay store called GForce brakes located somewhere in Canada. The 18 sets of brake lines turned up and were found to be of such poor quality that they leaked and were not fit to be used on any car,I had several of the sets pressure tested and non of them passed the 3000psi test that is adr standard for brake hoses, some leaked with as little as 20psi pressure
I have been in contact with Gforce brakes and they initialy said if I return the hoses they will contact the manufacturers and try to refund the money outstanding(which is over $1000 ).The trouble is when ever I have asked for their mailing address they will not tell me and on the phone they keep saying they will email me but never do.
So I need help trying to track these guys down,if anyone has dealt with them and has a current address or even if someone could phone them and get their current address that would be a big help.
In the meantime be warned the hoses from these guys are not up to standard, they are an accident waiting to happen.

I am on it will see what I can dig up for you.
Did you do your deal through ebay or direct?
If ebay then you may have some recourse through their system.
Was there a shipping from address on the shipment?
Might help me locate them faster.

If you could post as much info on them as you can, we could have better luck man :) phone numbers, city, domain name, ebay store, etc... There's a lot of companies with gforce in the name.

There a forum that mentioned they may have a retial shop in Scarborough ON. Might want to post there and see if you can get a hold of them through their store.

Now I'm worried...

How does one go and get brake lines tested?

I bought some "Suzuka" Stainless lines.

I don't know if there is anything I can do, but I assume they have to meet some type of minimum requirement for their brake parts, and while you are no threat from Aus, they're pretty close to me.
If anybody else has any advice, lets hear it.

Well if they are not going to do anything about Dave's complaint then let the gang up begin, starting with complaints to Ebay, which seems to be his biggest and only outlet.
shipping address does anyone have it for this guy, maybe a member can pay them a visit?

You're not alone. I got taken by them too, but after much effort, I was able to get back 75% of my money.

http://www.shellware.com/gforcesaga.html

Took me over a month to get my money back. PayPal got involved and ruled in my favor. I had to pay $68 to ship the junk rotors back to them, and they ended up refusing to pay the $46 customs fee. If you order from them on eBay using PayPal, because their feedback is less than 98% (it was 96% and falling last time I checked) PayPal will only cover up to $200 of the purchase.

GForce Brakes Auto Parts

That's the address PayPal eventually sucked out of them and shows up as Residential using a couple different US carriers. They also do business as Elite Group and have a shop in Ontario... that might be the address.

I wonder if his garage is zoned " commercial", and if the city knows about the business?

Just thinking out loud....

Man This is making me sick!! I ran into this doing a search on Gforce brakes. I sure wish I had found this before I made my purchase. I bought a full set of rotors and pads from them that are drilled and supposedly cryo treated, their "Magnum Ultra" model. I'm thinkin they likely aren't treated and I'm now wondering about the quality of the metal. When I first looked at them my first impression was that they didn't look like "high quality" machined rotors. The pad's, made by Regal (whomever that is) appear to be generic junk. They told me that they are a "new" material consisting of a ceramic - metallic compound. I asked for some info on them and they had none of course.
I should have been thrown a red flag when I noticed them answering my email's late at night, about 1:00 AM EST. What legitimate business does that? Anyway I'm thinkin this guy needs to be taken out. After reading about the brake lines that blew and leaked, I'm thinkin this guy might be making them in his garage with plastic hose enclosed in stainless braid, if it's really stainless. He's going to kill someone sooner or later if he isn't stopped.
I haven't put the rotors on my vehicle yet and don't know if I ever will. I'll probably use the pad's as paper weight's. Anyway, we have got to do something about this operation. If you guy's up in Canada can verify the residential address given in one of the post's as the owner's home address that would be a good start for us. I'm thinking it's the address they used to open their Paypal acct. If there indeed is a "shop" somewhere in Canada it would be great if someone up there could confirm it and supply an address. If this guy know's that we know where to find him he just might start sending refunds. I'm only a few hours drive from Ontario. If I need to, I'll pay him a visit myself.
I will be checking in here often to see what you guy's can come up with. I will also submit something to ebay about this guy which is where I found him, but I didn't buy through ebay. I did pay with Paypal though, and another thing that should have tipped me off was that he doesn't use an email address for payments. I will also contact Paypal to let them know about all this as well. Hopefully we can get the word out and get this jackass shut down..............

WOW!!! These stories are crazy, I never would have thought this company was like this. I have been buying brakes from this company for years now. I bought Brembo rotors for my 1996 Subaru, also bought other rotors for other cars and never had a problem. They were located in Toronto on Midland Ave and moved to a new shop at 21-B Cosentino Drive in Toronto. I know them as Elite Group Canada Inc apparently they have two names, as I found out searching the web.
