On my buggy I used a Ford Duraspark igniton box and a Geo Metro Dual vaccum dist. Seems to be working well so far, I had it so I used it.

Has anyone come up with a subsitute dizzy for the Mk 1?
Either a straight swap or minor / little modification to a dizzy
Swifty Trials

Yes the distributors out of the Mk2 Single cam Swift works, and is almost identical to the Mk1 Gti dizzy.

Does anyone know if this is the case??
As Im trying to chase up a MK1 GTI distributor in australia as they are being fairly old now and hard to come by.
If this is true that would make my life a hell of alot easier as there is heaps of these down the local Car wrecker. If it does work would the Vacume\mechanical advace need to be modified for the twin cam version?
