I pocketed a used injector out of a junked Geo

Good score. I see these injectors are around 230 bucks on the Rock Auto website. I collect these Geo/Firefly 1.3 litre TBI 4DrSdns so I'll be keeping this thread in mind next time I happen to be around junked 1.3 litre TBIs.
Great thread too, a problem is described, those who bin dere dun dat, suggest remedies, and the problem is solved. So much more satisfying than threads where someone describes a problem, remedies are suggested, then that's it, the thread ends and you never hear
whether or not the problem was solved.

^ Well I don't mind them too much because there can still be a of good information in them because the people posting suggested remedies and suggested tests to do are usually very knowledgeable so a lot can still be learned from the threads but yes, its way way better when the person with the malfunction tries out the suggestions and then Eureka! finds the one that turns a non running or terribly running car into one that runs like a top. And then takes the time to describe the result and post it so others can learn from it.

Okay, so the car has begun stalling during deceleration (problem usually occurs after I've been holding 2500+ rpm's and then lift off the gas). When at highway speeds, it will restart if I pump the gas repeatedly but unless I keep the rpm's up, it will stall as soon as I lift off the gas.

As stated earlier in this thread, I had discovered that the previous stalling issue was due to a faulty injector. I noted that the old injector (right) had a collapsed housing. I replaced it with a junkyard injector (left) and had a good week of trouble free operation.

Image

As soon as the new stalling issue started, I pulled the junkyard injector and noticed that it now looks similar to the previous one. The plastic housing looks slightly collapsed. Check it out.

I'm going to grab yet another junkyard injector and pop it in to see if the new stalling issue is corrected. If it turns out the problem is the injector, I imagine it's time to invest in a new or refurbished injector.

If you do go rebuilt. Try to find an autoline. I have found them for around $60 "new"
