Hello, I'm new to the forum. But not new to owning a Chevy sprint since 1994. I have just completed a total restoration on a 1986 Sprint. Will post pictures soon. I'm having the worst time ever trying to locate a new or used little black box under the glove box for the a/c . it has to be an 87-88 model only. Some call it an a/c control module, others say it's an a/c amplifier??? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mine has 11 wires going to it. It is the last piece of the puzzle I need to complete the a/c. None are available here in V.A. I will pay top dollar if anyone has one!!!!! Thanks Orange 86

Hate to burst your bubble of hope , but you are not the only one . Most of us with AC in our T3s don't have them working for a same reason . Controller box . I have at least 6 of them that are busted and 3 cars that need them. Even tried finding someone to repair them with no luck . They tried but it didn't fix them.
The only solution that I found someone attempted was getting AC relay with temp probe off Ebay and rewiring the whole thing so its using just a relay to control compressor clutch and condenser fan
We can thank GM for their contribution to building Chevrolet Sprint Turbo . The only component that came from them and the only one that has 100% failure rate

Thanks for the info on that. That really bites!!! :( I have been wanting a/c on this car since 94. Well I'm not giving up on it yet. If anyone has a rewire diagram, I'm down with that also. Thanks.

Does anyone know if these a/c control modules are used on any other vehicles other than a Sprint???

can someone post what the inside of one looks like? Top and bottom photos and photos of markings on any IC's please.
Shouldn't be impossible to make a functionally duplicate device.

No, 92 that used to have dealer installed R12 AC but I swapped out and installed factory R134 AC from a 97. Running 'uncontrolled'- switch to the compressor with the low pressure cutoff switch in series.
