This almost sounds like a road trip to California.

I know I just forked over $178 to register the 96 Geo! The Plates were new in 2014 and the tabs were new in May.

Excluding ports of entry vehicles.

Going to have to start registering Non-Op like California so the man can get his.

Been that way as long as I can remember. Had a farmer call my parents to report a 1964 Chevy Nova II on his property illegally. He could not claim it and it had to go to auction as the legal owner couldn't be found. My parents had the auction and it went on to a new home (not the farmers.)

This vehicle is from California. The paperwork would have to be fubarred to inspect it. Is this not correct anymore? When I bought my trailer in Oregon the WSP stated they didn't need to do an inspection because the paperwork was correct for the vehicle. I licensed it here without an inspection.

I now have 3 sets of those wheels. 1 black and 2 white.

If some one wants to trade their steelies with crappy tires and white left gt mirror for a white set without tires... local only unfortunately.

I will take some pics for a new post.

Why not ? Maybe he already has several of them in mint condition and all stock or various state of tune as many of us . Maybe he was wondering what would be possibilities and also had a parts car behind the shed . ..........

Very interesting project , for me , since I'm collecting parts for something similar with Mk1 T3. He even went through trouble of sourcing Cultus all wheel drive rear subframe and suspension from Japan. High grade job , no cut corners anywhere and its all Suzuki :D

I just would have used a regular Swift shell and slapped all my parts onto it.

Something a little more pedestrian compared to the above

http://sunshine.craigslist.ca/cto/5871760179.html

Let me introduce you to Rosie.

She is a 1990 Chevrolet Turbo Sprint. She is quite rare, very restorable and qualifies for collector plates.

I rescued her from almost certain death in April of this year. It took some money, and a lot of work, but the effort was worth it and she is one of my favourite vehicles I have ever owned, and I've owned a lot of them.

Rosie is my first turbocharged vehicle. Before her I owned a '91 Sprint, naturally aspirated and a '92 Metro, also naturally aspirated. Same basic car and drive train. The '90 Sprint was my previous favourite. It averaged an almost unbelievable 58 MPG Imperial in summer and about 52 MPG Imperial in winter, but it only developed about 50 HP and downshifting for any reasonable hill was a necessity.

Not so with Rosie. If you need more torque, just open the throttle and increase boost. It takes a serious hill to make a downshift necessary with her.

She has a 5 speed manual transmission and a 998 cc three cylinder engine. The engine is stock multi port fuel injected, turbo charged and after cooled. At 10 lbs boost pressure she develops about 145 ft lbs of torque @ about 3400 RPM and about 70 HP at about 3200 RPM. Because of the turbo charger, horsepower is almost constant up to about 4500 RPM then drops to about 59 HP at about 5500 RPM.

She purrs like a kitten in a creamery and uses almost no oil. Her transmission shifts effortlessly, her clutch is strong and she handles like she is on rails. She is extremely fun to drive and consistently gets about 42 MPG Imperial average with typical driving here on the Sunshine Coast.

To the best of my knowledge I am her third owner. She has some minor rust, and a few dents and scrapes. She has had some minor body damage repaired over the years, so the paint matches are less than perfect. Other than that, she still looks very respectable.

She came with aftermarket "Mag" wheels and Dunlop tires. I have added a manifold pressure gauge to monitor turbo boost. Other than that, she is completely stock.

I have too many "horses in the barn", so to speak. My latest project is turning into a money pit. I am getting old and ICBC is killing me, so I have decided to offer Rosie up for sale to an appreciating buyer. If you have any questions or would like more details just contact me by e-mail or text.
