As you can probably guess from the title i'm making a GTi swapped firefly (convertible of course) Car is a 1991 fly vert.

So far i have added:
turbo fly hood
Turbo fly body kit
turbo fly seats
turbo fly steering wheel
turbo fly dash cluster
GTi tail lights
and Honda ITR wheels.

I recently bought a arts car 1989 GTi that may have been a members car at some point. it has a lot of goodies i'm stealing to make my GTfly

Car has from what i can see:
Stainless header into full exhaust
cold air
intake says MTenginering.ca it doesn't appear to be stock
Crane cam gears
molded in fender extensions
a under body brace
sway bars
rear disk breaks
the list goes on.

My big question is whats all needed from donor car for motor swap? I'm assuming wire harness, computer motor, fuel pump. any mods needed?

It's been to MT, so definetly a teamswift member from the gta

The intake is a cultus intake, mt engineering is mt motorsports from Richmond hill
Tim from mt has a monster mk1 forsa with a kizashi motor

You will need to cut the front engine mount perch off the gt and weld it into the vert. It sits further forward with the 4cyl engine.

Look's like the car had better day's. Just in parts alone, it is worth more than the car.
What you have their sir, is a official (Japanese rat rod)

Yeah i figured as much lol. that why i didn't try and drive the price down. just handed him some cash closed the hod and got out of there. the convertible will be a lot more fun i think when its done.

It has a few things i need to work out tho. it will idle all day long no problem but when you go to down shift or put the clutch in to stop it revs up and down several times before staying at normal idle.

After being driven for a while it starts to "Bog" under heavy acceleration.

Any ideas? thanks in advance.

I think that is John's old car..

Rob had it, then sold it to John, who sold it off last year I think.

Hey guys and gals.

G/F and i got out to the shop tonight and worked on the GTI. Got a lot done in two hours. both harnesses are out. body kit off, dash is out, motor is half unhooked to be pulled. started removing rear disks etc.

Few questions.
When it says i need the harnesses motor and dash. i know that includes the PCM but does that include the interior fuse panel? is it going to be plug and play with the flys steering column?

Do i need the GTI rear control arms to mount the sway bar?

I'm sure ill have more as i go but thats all i can think of for now.

and some pics of the carnage enjoy.

Yep.That was the one rob found behind some shop. we got it running then he sold it to john. Car apparently has a full cultus motor in it.

If both cars are mk2 and since you have a complete parts car you might as well swap the hole harness over since it seems you have pulled a lot of it apart already and save you some headache.

Hey guys an gals. after much debate i have decided to get this back on track. and revive it.

I have to dig blue out and get tarted on him. hes stuck in the back corner of the garage :( no place for him!

I'll try and keep up with pics and posts.

I'm hopping someone will be able to help me locate a few parts along the way.

First and for most Trans mount adapter (i've asked a member about having one made and buying it from them. waiting for response.)

rear adjustable toe bars.

Thanks Dru
