Did I set at wrong timing of 5 degree?! :shock:

I always thought 5 degree on both NA and T3.


I am planning to advance ignition timing much as it can without ping.... Is 12' degree for T3 too much? Even at 20' degree ?!

12 is fine.

No G10 should ever be set at 5 degrees BTDC

Actually I know that T3 has knock sensor but I am curious what is max degree :shock: (I am not able to find that more information)



Really? 5 degree is the factory (on the hood) so what is your recommend on G10 and G13BA? 8-10?


I am pretty sure that advance is better for low-mid range... meanwhile retard is better for mid-high range.... Maybe T3 is different because too much advance would be less power at mid-range. :huh:

I have ran 10degrees and it worked well with good power and no pinging. I think there will be a power increase bumping timing from 5 up to 10deg

Yes I remember I did 10' degree a while ago... I know I did set at 5' degree last year.


I just don't realize that factory setting is 12. So I am curious about max + degree timing without any loss the power.

Run 10-12 and it will make more power everywhere. Reduced timing is not better for top end power

Very interesting. I wonder if they used 5deg for emissions purposes on most of the models? The consensus(sp??), is certainly that most all of the g-series are quite happy and perform better at 10deg or so.
