whats the stock specs of a G13BB? I found one at the junk yard and it has sohc 16vavle engine.
I have never seen one of these before I mostly stick to the samurai forums and I have never read anything about them. Would they bolt up to a samurai transmission and are they any stronger?
the hood of the chevy metro said it was a 1.0l but it was a 4cylinder engine.

They would definitley fit in a Samurai and run alot stronger than a stock Sammy motor. What year is the motor? Does it have a distributor? If it does there will be firewall interference issues.

If it's a '98 up 4 cylinder model, it DOES NOT have a distributor, as they are all DIS (Distributorless ignition system). Your probably just looking at a 3 cylinder engine.

Look for an Esteem at the yards if you are interested in the 1.6L. I recently saw one with the 1.8L. You would have to get an adapter to make it fit though.

As far as the 1.3 is concerned a DIS model would be much easier to fit due to distributor will hit the firewall. The '98 and up has a stronger bottom end than the Samurai from what I have heard. I don't think it has the forged bottom end the twincam has though.

I know the Swift has oil sump towards the front of the motor. I can't remember where the Samurai's sump is located. The pans should be interchangable if the do in fact differ.

this is where Mike (WE0H) needs to step in, both me and him were the ones that discovered this.

My '98 was built in '97 and has DIS. All 16v SOHC engines are DIS, but the early ones had the coils where the distributor would normally be and standard looking wires. Sometime during the '98 production run, they went to coil on plug with one two inch and one four inch wire.
